Bio / CV

Kathryn Stotler paints contemporary abstract landscapes in acrylic, graphite, and oil pastel.  Born to a musician and an educator and raised in Los Angeles, Kathryn has emerged as an abstract landscape painter with a powerful visual style.  She focuses exclusively on abstractions of geological forms employing an unusual magnification of her subject matter as well as personal metaphorical symbols she has gleaned from the subject matter.  She has trained extensively since 2008 with local artists/educators and  continues to work from the C Street Studios in the hub of the art district in Eureka, CA..  Kathryn exhibits in local venues each year, is a member of Arcata Artisans Cooperative, and opens her C Street studio once a month for Arts Alive.  She has also opened a gallery and studio at 3122 F Street in Eureka, CA where she showcases her works and maintains a regular studio practice.
